First of all, the BBcode issue has been resolved. Likewise, the other issue involving the inability to edit user profiles has also been resolved. These were, as we have consistently stated, related to an situation involving the Joomla Mootools Javascript library being clobbered by something.
I repaired the files located in ../plugins/system/mtupgrade folder by copying a few files that were missing. I don't know why a couple of files were missing but I put them back. This may have had an impact.
As well as the work that I did, thezone also updated the
DOCman component (to
DOCman v1.5.10) which is a version compatible with J! 1.5.x and, as a result, there seems to be no reason to continue to use "legacy mode" (which, itself, is a good thing). I also replaced the .htaccess file which means that thezone's website can now use standard Joomla SEO. Reviewing what I wrote in msg #14 in this topic, I don't see any other components that are installed that are incompatible with J! 1.5.x also and this further confirms my feeling that "legacy mode" can remain turned off.
This is the current K 1.6 configuration report for the site:

Joomla default template details : 1 | author: Amanda King | version: 1.0 | creationdate: 2011-07-10
Kunena default template details : Blue Eagle (default) | author: Kunena Team | version: 1.6.4 | creationdate: 2011-05-07
Kunena version detailled: Installed version: 1.6.4 | Build: 4832 | Version name: Kerkrade | Kunena detailled configuration:
Third-party components: None
Third-party SEF components: ARTIO JoomSEF 3.7.6
Plugins: System - Mootools Upgrade: Disabled | System - Mootools12: Disabled | Kunena Discuss 1.6.4
Modules: Kunena Latest 1.6.4 | Kunena Login 1.6.4
Unless there is a compelling reason to have ARTIO JoomSEF, this component is probably unnecessary. The website now produces nicely-formed Joomla-standard SEF URLs and hanging on to this out-of-date component may not necessarily achieve any additional benefit. That's an off-topic matter that you need to consider for yourself and, if you have further issues arising from the continued used of that component, you should start a new discussion topic about it.
In conclusion, the specific problem brought to our attention 5 months ago has now been fixed. Joomla Mootools is working and
Kunena now works as a result. Thank you to thezone for your co-operation and engagement in working through the issues. I'm pleased that we now have a satisfactory resolution to the problem.
