I have the same problem here. I have a fresh installation of Joomla 1.5.23 and Kunena 1.6.3.
My forum is only for registered users and I have verified that it could not be read if not logged in. The forum has only 10 users but the problem was also there if only me and my friend were registered.
The count of the views is increasing very fast. I open a thread and the count increase 5 or 6.
I have make some tests and found out the following: Until the thread is opened in the browser (ff 3.6.16) the count go higher anf higher. I take a look in the database and it goes from 100 to 120 in about 2 minutes. Noone else was logged in in the moment. If I change back to main page of forum the count stops. If I open the thread again the count increases again so long the thread is opened.
But the browser is not refreshing anything. I dont understand.
I try to verify this problem again, but then the count was not increasing. Also not +1.
Could this be a problem of the database of my hoster? Perhaps something about timeout or transaction?
All other is working fine and I have no errors or something else.
Could this perhaps be a problem with the shoutbox which is refreshing via ajax?
It is very strange a can repeat the problem with some threads (increasing until I close) and on some threads the problem could not be repeated.

Update: The Shoutbox (
joomla.batjo.nl/
) is the problem. I deactivate the shouldbox and the count is now +1 und nothing else. Perhaps I have to contact the author.
