Question way too many topic views counted

It had been mentioned in the old 1.5 section already, but somehow it occurs on my 1.6.1 as well: the hits counter for any topic increases by 3 on every visit of a registered user - which leads to completely ridiculous numbers.
Guest increase by 1 only, as it should be the case for all users.

Any ideas or suggestions?

My Joomla! site is intranet only, unaccesible from the internet - just in case someone wants to ask for access

Have you studied the rate at which view counts are increased? Do you have any site analytic tools that might indicate the source of who or what are viewing those topics and causing the rate to increase at an unusually high rate? Have you discounted the possibility that there is some automated software ('bots) lurking around your site?

Until we actually know the cause of these unusually high "view numbers/rates" anything else we might say is purely guessing.

We don't see unusually high view counts at www.kunena.org and so I doubt that it is the Kunena product in isolation of other factors.

For my own part, the views seemed to go up more when me and the other superadmin viewed threads or posts, but I'd have to confirm that tomorrow.

Has this issue been resolved? I have also noticed that the views go up by 3 each view as well. My site is new and the forum is restricted to registered users. this happens with no one else logged in. I don't know if this is a Kunena configuration issue or how it interacts with other components like community builder, etc. Anyone solve this issue?

I believe that some work has been done in this area in K 1.6.4 (which is not yet available for public release). Please do not ask when K 1.6.4 will be released. We do not have an exact date decided yet.
