The problem in this topic is that people receive the error message
In other words, you have a "blank" (or missing) email address. You need something in this field or you will get the error message above.
The cause of that problem is that the setting in the Kunena Forum Configuration » General » Basic Settings » Forum E-mail Address = <nothing>Forum tried to send email from invalid address. Please contact site administrator!

Thank you. When I went to the settings, I found everything from the @ and after was missing in the email area. I'm not sure how that happened - and I hope it doesn't happen again!

If the email field in the Kunena backend is blank or looks like a malformed email address, you get the following error:
Forum tried to send email from invalid address. Please contact site administrator!
A sozzled mentioned, try putting a real email address in there and see if that fixes the problem.
If the error message is something along the lines of
Email function couldn't be initialized!
Then your server's mail is probably incorrectly configured. If it's something like:
Could not find SMTP server!
Then your Joomla mail settings are wrong. Some other error messages might also indicate incorrect email settings elsewhere in Joomla or your server, but those are the most common. All of the above will show up whenever a user adds a post to a topic and the forum tries to send an email notification to users who are subscribed to that topic. If you want to prevent the forum from sending mail (and therefore stop that error from showing up), then turn off subscriptions in the backend (Users tab).
