What does MTUpgrade do exactly ? Would it *REALLY* hurt if i disabled it ? Any other ideas how to upgrade/downgrade/fix it in order to get rid of the above erros ?

No, you can disable it if you want. Kunena won't work (well, only 10% of Kunena won't work, but it's a really useful 10% of Kunena that you'll have to do without) without the MTupgrade. You won't have the BBcode toolbar, no Quick Reply and no message preview; you won't have any profile editing. If you can live without those things then you can disable MTupgrade; whether your users can live without them is a different matter.

Other ideas? There are millions of them! There must be literally thousands of Joomla site templates that don't cause difficulties for Kunena (irrespective of whatever version you want to discuss) ... and that's just for starters. That's how I would begin to go about tackling the problem. JoomlArt templates, unfortunately, do not have an unblemished reputation for perfect co-operation with Kunena 1.5 either. In fact, the same can be said about many Joomla templates. It's just something you have to work through.

Yes but unfortunately i decided to add a forum(Kunena) after i had my template completely customized. My template was Gavick actually.

Since there are no suggestions on how to fix the error, I guess i will switch to agora or start over with a rockettheme template and cross my fingers, hoping everything works fine this time..

Thank you

That's OK and that's your choice. You had customised a Gavick template and then you installed Kunena. Now you're going to throw them both away and start again. Just for your interest, I recently helped another user in a similar situation. We had his website running with Kunena and a new site template within an hour for a zero dollar outlay. Good luck. I wish you the same degree of success.

I'm running into similar issues between our Gavick template and Kunena. I wish I spotted this thread earlier since I'm in the same boat of having customized our site and now may have to start over with something new.

FWIW - I emailed Gavick directly this morning to ask if they were addressing the conflict since posts to their forum have not been responded to. Hope we hear something, otherwise I need a template to replace SPORTER . PM if you have any recommendation.
