Hi,

I am sorry if I can't explain the problem correctly.

I had 2 problems:

1 was the online an offline message. This one is solved.

2 is the ranks, which i can't seem to activate.
After trying to set my Kunena to factory default my kunena forum is down.
It gives a message that it wants to open a php file.
Both in back end as in front end.
So it looks like my problem just got worse.

Hopefully this makes any sense.

The only thing that makes any sense to me, from what you've just written, is that your Kunena forum is inaccessible. Is that the current situation? What have you done to your website? What have you been changing to make your site inoperative if, as I believe to be the case, that is what has now happened? Without knowing precisely what you have done, I think that you need to get your site running again and, to do that, you seriously need to reconsider restoring your site from your last good backup. Does that make sense to you?

The site itself is running OK, as it allways does.
I only wanted to have the ranks option enabeled in Kunena.
The forum was working OK, but only without ranks.
After an attempt to reset kunena to a factory defaults this error occurs.
I did not alter anything to my site.
So I guess I need to restore my site from a backup.

I am going to ask you three simple questions. I would like three simple and direct answers, please.
  1. Is your Joomla website running (frontend and backend) yes or no?

  2. Do you have Kunena forum running in frontend: yes or no?

  3. Do you have access to Kunena administration area in backend: yes or no?

Hello,

the answers were
1 yes
2 no
3 no

I just re-installed the Kunena component.
Forum is back on, and ranks are working now.

Sorry to be a pain,
but many thanks for the quick response.

This is why I like to get direct answers to my questions. ;) We save a lot of time that way.

Re-installing Kunena is exactly the approach I would have recommended to you as a result of your answers. I also had a fairly strong feeling that it would also fix your minor problems, too. One very last suggestion to you: please don't make lots of changes to your configuration settings until you've tested them out, one at a time, to know what each of them does. Thanks.
