I have a client that wanted a new site built. The old site was built on J 1.5 and the previous designer did not supply the the client with admin privileges to his own site. It used Kunena as well for its forum.

I copied all of the site files via FTP to my personal computer and have backed up the old database as well as leaving it intact on the server. I have installed a temporary site in the root directory and added a sandbox to develop the new site. The old Joomla 1.5 site is not on the server but its DB is.

I have J 2.5.4 in a "new" directory and Kunena 1.7.2 installed (I am just doing infrastructure now, design comes later). Is there a means, manual or otherwise that I can import the data from the old DB to the new one so that it would appear in in the new Kunena install?

Thanks and God Bless,
Kyle

I suggest that you read Import Kunena forum data to other Kunena forum . Migrate my forum may also give you some tips, too.

Migrating a forum is tricky. See my blog article I want to migrate my forum to Kunena ... for background reading.
