Kunena 6.4.8 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.8 [K 6.4.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.4
Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.
Question Import Kunena forum data to other Kunena forum
maybe my question is stuppid, but after several hours of attempting to set to work bbcode, I could not think logically. I have problem with Gavick template + Kunena... gavick template not support Mootools...
I created additional site Joomla 2.5 + Kunena 1.7.2
The question is - how can I import all data from my previous site (joomla 1.5.23 + Kunena 1.6.5) to my new site? Can I use Kunena importer for that?
Thank you in advance!
Regards,
Felix

Actually, that's a very good question! The answer is that the Kunena Importer component is designed to import from other forum types (e.g. phpBB3, Agora, ccBoard, etc.) but it was never intended that it should be used to import a working Kunena forum on one site and move it to another.Galaktix wrote: The question is - how can I import all data from my previous site (joomla 1.5.23 + Kunena 1.6.5) to my new site? Perhaps what would be a good idea is for someone to develop a Kunena forum mover/copier/upgrader/installer tool? Perhaps there is someone who is keen to develop such a tool and market it on the Joomla Extension Directory ?
In the meantime, however, you have to cope with the process manually, as best you can. Upgrade your existing (working) site to K 1.7.2, then copy the Kunena tables from that site - together with the Joomla user tables - to the new site. We have answered many times this question about which tables need to be copied.

I will find how to do it manually.

I did it already a few times, it's not so difficult. Very important is that you use the same version of Kunena. So first update Kunena on your old Joomla 1.5 site to Kunena 1.7.2.
Then convert your old site with jUpgrade to Joomla 1.7 or 2.5 to make the database tables etc.
Info you will find here: Migrating Joomla to 2.5
After that it is better to make a full clean install of Joomla 1.7 or 2.5 with all the extensions. Then install Kunena on the new site.
The best way is to export the user tables and Kunena tables from your updated site and import them in the new site. When you search a little you can find enough info which tables.
I don't have so much time yet, but maybe tomorrow I will post a short manual. Good luck for now

Make a copy of your existing site. On your "copy site", remove the extensions that have nothing to do with Kunena; upgrade Kunena; upgrade Joomla. Then you have what you need to copy to your brand new site.Galaktix wrote: ...but the problem is that I cant update joomla to 2.5 because I must keep my existing site ...
