Thank you very much for this information.

I talked to Matias. It seems that the information given in msg #3 was misleading. If you want to make the change to the avatar image size (used on the Index page) then you need to modify the template params.ini file.

However, we're not sure that, if you use the Kunena Template Manager, that any changes you make there will not over-write the stored values in params.ini with values taken from template.xml. Can you check the Kunena Template Manager feature to make sure that any of these avatar image size changes you make to params.ini are not lost, please?

Perhaps better advice would be to say that you need to change both files? I don't know.

there is no option in the Template Manager for Avatar sizes (At least not in version 1.6.4). I did not try it out, but I think, that it is the following way: If you install any template, the value from the .xml file is written into the params.ini file.
I think just this must be checked.

Hi,

when you install new template with Template Manager, the file params.ini dont exist and is not installed with template. Kunena use default values (default template) from template.xml file to show avatars in whole forum.

Avatar size parameters are hidden and can not be changed from Backend Template Manager.

When you go to Template Manager and Edit template, change your parameters and Save this changes, Kunena create a new file called params.ini. Every time you Save changes in Template Manager, values in params.ini file goes overwriten with a new values.
From the moment that params.ini file exist, to show avatars in a forum, Kunena use parameters stored in this file.

Now, if you want to change some size limits of Avatar in your forum you should change default values in template.xml file. But this is not enough, you need to go in Backend Template Manager, Edit and Save template, in that way your new values are stored in params.ini.

After that your should also clean a cache from Joomla backend and your Internet browser and reloading page avatars with a new sizes will appaer.

If you are using some other component (CB, JS) to show avatar in kunena, you should also change values in configuration of component used.

Hope this helps
