Yes, that's exactly the way it looks to me:

The Kunena entry menu item is:

I tried changing the alias in case there was a clash between the two menus with identical aliases. I have also checked that there is no folder with the same name as the alias. Nor is there a folder called \forum

Getting 404 - Component not found from all the menu items gives me an impression that something is wrong in your menu items (or in SEF).

This error page is generated by Joomla, before component (Kunena) gets loaded. This makes me to think that component field in the database is not pointing to the right component id.

Thank you, Matias.
Can you suggest what I should do?

One thing you can try is to create menu directly from the menu manager and look if it fixes the issue. I would test this by:

1) Create Kunena Forum > Entry Page into your main menu
2) Create Kunena Forum > Category Index under 1)
3) Go back to 1) and set Default Menu Item to point into 2)

Then check if your new small menu works.

Thanks for the suggestion which I have now tried.

The Main menu item opens the index correctly.
But then clicking on a tab or sub-menu item gives the 404 error

My above suggestion should have worked if everything is OK in your installation. It looks like there's some kind of corruption in either menu or component table, giving Joomla non-existing component ID.

What I don't undestand is why the first level works, but the second doesn't.. Please try to add an article or any other page to our menu and look if it works.
