Hi,

We seem unable to create/assign moderators for any of our categories.

Even when we have selected "Yes" for moderation in the Category Config there is no option to select a moderator.

Our Config info is as follows:-

G'day, peterrf, and welcome to Kunena.

I have merged your question into a topic that answers it. K 1.6.4 is not supported; please upgrade to K 1.7.2.

Hello,

I was wondering if the following was possible.

Lets say I created a Joomla user group called X.

I want members of the user group X to be a moderator in Kuena.

Is this possible without having to go into kuena, and setting the member to moderator, each time. As this would make my system more complex for not-joomla-experienced-people.

So to make clear: Can Kuena set users to moderator when they are a member of a joomla user group designed for this?

Thanks in advance.

Rik

G'day, rikietje, and welcome to Kunena.

It doesn't work that way. There is a process for assigning forum moderation privileges. I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is.

There is some scope for action based ACLs in K 2.0 but I don't think what you want has been addressed in K 2.0.

Hello everybody,

I'm a new kunena's user and I try to attribute moderator to categories. I use Joomla 2.5.2 and Kunena 1.7.2 but it is impossible to choose several categories for one moderator.
I just can have one moderator for one category and never the same.
I activate moderation on the different categories and on the members.

I'm sure there is one stuff to activate or not but I don't kow where the problem is.
Could you help me ?

thx

G'day, Matthieu, and welcome to Kunena.

There are two kinds of forum moderators: global moderators who have moderator privileges in all categories (all categories that they are to access) and category moderators who have privileges in one or several (but not all) categories. This is explained in msg #2 of this topic.

It is possible to assign a user to be a moderator for more than one category. The "trick" is to press and hold the CTRL key down when you use your mouse to select more than one category. I hope that helps. :)
