That's a slightly different issue. The person, to whom you gave those privileges, needs to logout and login again in order to be able to use those privileges. Forum privileges are only checked once (when a user logs in).

You can also use the Syncrhonize Users feature to apply any changes to a user's session while they are logged in.

What are you trying to say with that picture? I don't understand.

Assigning a moderator has nothing to do with Joomla. It has nothing to do with ranks. You assign a moderator by using the technique described in msg #2 in this topic. If you have done something different then I don't understand the problem.

Maybe the problem has something to do with the way you have setup Kunena or maybe the problem has something to do with the Kunena template you are using. I don't know.

Please read again the instructions in msg #2 in this topic.

If you look in the first pic the user blabla is blue so he is a moderator. the only commands he can use on a topic are subscribe, favorite and new topic. in the second picture the same user blabla is a global moderator with more commands like delete topic, unstick, unlock etc. What i`m asking is if i can give the global moderator permission to the user blabla but only for a category. Like i have category 1, 2, 3, etc on my forum i want him to have the global moderator commands only for the 3rd category not for 1 and 2 also. doesn`t matter which template i have is the same for all. now do you understand what i want???

As explained in msg #2 there are, basically, two kinds of moderators: global moderators and category moderators.

Global moderators can use extra privileges (e.g. delete messages, edit other users' messages, sticky, split/merge, etc.) anywhere on the forum where they have access.

Category moderators have, more or less, the same privileges except that they can only exercise them in the category (or categories) to which they have been assigned. If the buttons that allow your moderators to do those moderator things do not appear (and you have followed the guide in msg #2) then I would say it's a problem with the way you have configured Kunena or the Kunena template you are using. Your configuration report may indicate something about that. I don't know.

The different colours indicate if someone is a global moderator (i.e. they have not been assigned to a specific category to moderate) or a category moderator. I think we all understand that.

If you have three categories, (1, 2, 3, say) and you assign someone only to be a moderator for category 3, their name will still appear in blue (assuming that they can access other categories of course) but they will only be able to use their forum moderator privileges in category 3. Is there a problem with that?

no problem at all.. just that i needed to give those global moderators privileges to category moderators... I`ll try to update joomla to the latest version reinstall everything and i`ll try with the kunena default template... if it`s still not working i`ll quit and leave it the way it is... Thank you very much for your time and sorry if we had communications problems but english is not my first language :silly: ...
