Hey, to anyone who needs a good fully customizable Joomla/Kunena ACL extension, so far my favorite is
noixACL
.
I am using it now, and I created a group called VIP's. VIP's are the only members besides the staff who can see a special forum, they are the only members who can do certain activities, and they are the only members with the official VIP User Ranking in Kunena.
noixACL works great for my needs, and give Kunena and kind of phpBB usergroup feel, without the actual UserGroup legend customization and username color editing feature.

I think that a "kind of phpbb" can be done only when kunena team will work and replace much of the kunena code.
Because what is essential in a forum is different rules for each category.
Example category 1 mod can add topic and user only reply.
example category 2 user can add topic only after moderation but when published users can post freely.
That's development seems to not start in k.1.6 as i read in the forum

I try to do it nearly like readyman.
I already set up the new group "vip" in the css file, but I also have to make that user group visible in the "legend" ... sure I know, that I have to say somewhere
span title="VIP" class="kwho-user"> VIP</span>,
but where????

Do any of the ACLs offered here [Jx Control, ArtofUser, NoixACL] also integrate with Community Builder 1.4? I need the ACL to play nice with CB 1.4 and Kunena 1.6.4?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

ArtOfUser could be supported (depending on how CB uses Joomla ACL), so try it. Other two aren't developed anymore so don't bother to try them.
