Question URL Issues

URL Issues was created by woza
Hi

I've recently upgraded my site to Joomla 1.7 and Kunena 1.6.5. It's a little slow, but working OK. However Kunena seems to want to put ?itemid=0 on the end of each url.

I have the joomla SEF turned on and also in the Kunena configuration. I've tried all sorts to get rid of it but it won't go away. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it. Whether by changing the config or using htacess?

Secondly I have the recent topics page as my home page which has <diomain>/recent.html as the home page url. It would be nice if it was just the domain name with nothing on the end, but I've setup a 301 redirect to that page so it's not the end of the world. The main problem is that the categories page uses <domain>/index.html which A, is confusing and B, Google is starting to think it's my home page. Can I change this to categories.html?

I don't want to use a 3rd party sef plugin as I've used them before and they are slow and cause more problems than they fix.

Any ideas would be great!

Many thanks

Warren

I don't know if you had posted your question to the right category or not. I moved this topic from the Support category because I assume (from your last reply) that you're implying that there isn't anything specifically broken in Kunena.

When I asked you to read the posting guidelines for the Support category, I hoped that you would read about What information should I include when I ask for help (including how to post my configuration report)? It's impossible to understand your question "Kunena seems to want to put ?itemid=0 on the end of each URL" if there's no context. I don't know how that happens or why that happens in your situation.

Would you like to help us to understand your issue by providing us with more information about your particular circumstances?

I haven't seen that for myself and I haven't found a similar case reported in this forum.

I have the exact same problem.

It is Joomla 1.7 and latest Kunena 1.6

There is always added ?Itemid=0 to the end of the URLS. On BOTH category URLs and topic URLs.

I have installed sh404sef (latest), BUT it's core sef (joomla inbuilt) that is active for the forum.

You can see the issue on my test site: (this test will will be taken down when finalized)
utefokus.net/estrategi/new/forum

utefokus.net/estrategi/new/component/kun...t-og-ellers?Itemid=0

The ?Itemid=0 shows both when sh404sef is active, and when it's Joomla core sef that is active.

Any good suggestions?

Sorry Sozzled, my bad. Although this issue isn't causing Kunena to break it is something I would like to resolve as it creates duplicate urls (one with itemid=0 and 1 without), which causes problems with search engines and social media sharing.

The index.html url for the categories page causes another issue with Google, where google thinks my categories page is the home page. This may change as Google fully re-indexes my site, but I would prefer to change the name of the url.

Here is the addition info:
