Kunena does not fix menus from the previous releases -- it would just break existing menus that user has.

You should to to Joomla menu manager and remove all Kunena related menu items. Then remove them from the trash, too. After that Create Menu from Kunena backend.

I've tried to write some documentation on how it works:

here is what i did.. i removed the kunena menu items and from trash.. made sure there was no kunena menu items still left in the modules.. then uninstalled kunena using the joomla com uninstaller.. then tried to reinstall kunena RC2 and it presented me with the reinstall option or remove option.. im guessing this is because the files were still there just not running as a com in joomla? well i decided i better use the remove option to fully clear kunena out, then try installing again.. install went fine, got the 'Kunena Menu' item in my menu manager and it doesnt have the nav bar problem anymore.. now everything is good and i can just select where i want my 'Forum' menu item to point to(the index). does this all sound correct?

problem is when im in the forum the breadcrumbs are not going where i want them to.. the root of the forum('Kunena'), to me, should put me back to the index and not 'Recent Topics' as shown in the following pics:

if i am browsing a sub forum and want to head back to index using bredcrubs:

it takes me here recent topics:
