Question New Thread forces PHP download....

It gives the user an option to save as.... From my experience this happen when something is trying to call on a different version of php. But I would think this would be happening when the forum is first loaded. But why that particular script would be calling on a different version of php is confusing to me. I have put in a request to my host to upgrade the php... I don't know if that is going to happen. I'm on a shared host.

While you are waiting for an answer from your webhost, dannyboy, you might also like to check the Joomla forum for any information about using "different versions" of PHP and what settings you can change to make Joomla work for you.

I upgraded the machine to the latest version of PHP (5.2.14) and it worked perfect.

The New Current Version:
PHP Version 5.2.14
Joomla Version 1.5.18
Kunena 1.5.12

And the forum works like a champ!

I’m glad it worked out with dannyboy, and I must say that I had a similar problem that my webhost only installed the latest version but didn’t render it. I sent them a ticket mentioning id and they came back to me and said they'll look into it. Even though you might not have full control when you’re on a share web hosting package but if you’re with a good host they'll settle everything for you quickly enough.
