We moved our site from Wordpress to Joomla with JomSocial and Kunena.

After that, we get a lot fo spam - several spam/porn/pills post every day now. :pinch:

What is the best way to manage this ?

It would be really nice to have the first post from new users kept for moderation so that they would not be able to post before having at least one good post.

Definitely not a Kunena expert (installed it today), but generally if you have a web developer who could make some adjustments to the forum registration process (registration page), you could ask them to:

1. add some non-standard mandatory field to the registration page that has to be filled in (random question etc., which should be enough to confuse the spam bot and reject it at the doorstep)
2. delay the timer for your forum account activation prompt e-mail response (anything that is different from immediate response should work here)
3. disable the option to place any do follow links at the registration process (that is in user signature etc.)

I suppose that these are not "out of the box" solutions for this extension, but if you know a knowledgeable person, they should be able to implement them. Other than that (but this would also need some help from a programmer when it comes to implementation) subscribing to spam blacklists and blocking IPs that are on those lists from access to your website should be of some help here too.

That's a very good idea. Maybe we should consider this as a feature inclusion for a future version of Kunena?
