@butchjax, your issue looks like there's mod_security rule (or something similar -- could even be IPS rule in firewall) that looks through all POST requests and blocks them if some suspicious patters are found.

I think the purpose is to block spam... You need to ask about it from your VPS provider.

First issue could be related one, but blocking browsers from making too many requests too fast. Maybe your browser is pre-loading all the links?

I tested with the default template, the problem remained. I am awaiting a response from my hosting provider to see if there's something on their end. I'll report back in case it helps other people (like the original poster).

From our hosting support, which worked.

We have whitelisted the apache mod_sec id on the server that was causing the problem.

Hopefully this helps others.

A user on one of our forums was informing me of an issue where it would give her a forbidden permission error. As she informed me, it happened whenever she tried to post a link.

Later on, it was revealed it happened always when she passed 3 links.

This is the error she received:

Forbidden You don't have permission to access /index.php/forum on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't let her post and thought maybe there was a limit setting on the user but saw no evidence of that. Doing a google search didn't come up with many issues but I did see that it might have to do with the templates.

I am currenly using 3.0 and Blue Eagle (with visuals edited through css to fit the site) and so I am unsure where the issue is coming up and what could be conflicting with it.

I don't REMEMBER editing anything that could have created problems, as that's way beyond my skill level. (I'd rather not mess around with that. I'm just a designer)

Is there any idea on how I can fix this? How to find OUT how I can fix this? Trouble shooting? Perhaps?

I know you'll probably want the site url to see it yourself. Let me know if there's more needed.

EDIT: My user has informed me that it works if its JUST the url straight copy and paste but trying to do so with the

{/url}

style implementing more than 3 times is when it becomes a problem.

Though this means my users CAN post urls beyond 3(I hope?), it creates complications and I would rather not have every user who has this issue to come to me, for me to tell them "I'm sorry you have to deal with it. Just post the urls" ): It's more..messy and unpleasant.
