Lol I got it, Just had to react on it, didn't I
As I said earlier, your idea is not achievable in Kunena in its current form. Kunena would need to be substantially changed to accommodate your request. Kunena is a Joomla component, therefore to make the change would require someone who understands how Jooma, Kunena and PHP all work together. Does that make more sense to you?
I don't really think your request is achievable "automagically" with Kunena, anyway. Perhaps there's another commercial solution that provides the automagic workflow? For now, you'll have to resign yourself to living with what you've got.
What you could do - at no cost and without making any changes to Kunena - is implement your solution in one of two other ways:
- Use the Hide button
Part of the message is hidden for the guests. Please log in or register to see it.
- Divide your message thread, as you suggested, into three parts: put the first two parts into a forum category that the public can see; place the thrid part into a forum category that only your registered users can view. Place a link in "part two" to the "final part".
This is a cheap solution and it's easy to do. It just involves your time, that's all.
Sometimes it's better to look at the problem in another way and the solution will come a lot easier. As I'm often reminding people, not all problems are technical and, certainly, not all technical solutions are the best. Quite often it's much better to ignore the technology - the means - and concentrate on how using a different approach - the method. It's the difference between lateral thinking and literal thinking. Got it?
Great thinking takes great minds, ... well ...
The first sollution I can relate to, as to my own postings I do as an admin. However, I can't ask from my board users to do the same. But maybe you are onto something. Let me explain.
Can a [ hide] command be programmed in after X nr of posts? (automaticly?)
Second part, well it's time yeah, not that I have plenty of it but, well, I just hope the [H ide] command works... automaticly..
And well, i'm trying not to be to difficult, but as my job learned me: Every disadvantadge had his advantage. so ... Perhaps an opportunity?
Cheers!
