Hi!
I have the same problem and I am using the default_ex skin. I have upgraded from fb -> kunena 1.5.9.
Whenever a user replies to the last post, then his/her post goes on top of the topic starter post! Not convinient at all...
Is there any way to changfe this? Is there any way to mass control how the users will vies the forum? It can not be done manually because the forum has 400+ users...
thank you

As disagreeable to you as this may sound, this is not really a problem; it's a user preference. Your users may consider it to be inappropriate if you imposed your preference on everyone. Your job, as the forum manager, is to guide your users and explain to them how they can change their preferences.

Of course it's possible to globally changed 400 or 4,000 or 400,000 users' preferences. You just need to write an SQL script for the purpose. However I am not going to do that for you because messing around with databases is a sure-fire recipe for disaster. B)

I experienced the same problem too. I really dived into this, as there was no clue to be found in the database tables. Everything seems correct when comparing with other threads without the problem.

I'm using the Kunena default template. And I know what's causing the problem. It had nothing to do with dates, or ID's or things like that.

At a certain moment I deleted a post which all the time was viewed on top of the thread. I recreated it, and again, on top of the thread.

Then I decided to delete it again and post something again with the same user. In this case I did not use the former text, but just a simple test line. And guess what? Everything in order.

It had to do something with my orginal text, didn't ? So I removed al ' and " signs. which where in this post. This solved the problem.

This is -off course- no real solution to the problem, but surely a hint in the right direction. I think it's not that difficult to fix for the developers team.

In the meantime, moderators can edit posts when this problem is happening.

I'm strongly suggesting to use the default_ex template. I cannot test it at this time, but it seems it's immune for the problem.

I am not going to stretch this argument of self-decision on "how everything looks". I do agree that anyone has the right to customise his/her view to his preference.
But this causes another issue that probably you haven't think of or simply you don't think it is important: you now create a mixed up pile of thread s with no star or end.
That is because my real problem is not the way everyone wants to put things for himself, I cant agree more on this with you, but despite the fact I have chosen for myself to view the threads in an increasing way (from oldest to newest), Kunena is putting NEW threads over the first one, not the last one regardless of whatever I do. So it is a lose-lose situation where you are forced to put things in a decreasing value (from latest to oldest).
This is where I need your help.
With respect.

That's a different problem description to what you started with.

Let's see if we can work this problem through, shall we? :)

In your case, you have not merged any discussion topics, ever, true or false?

In your case, you never had an occasion when any discussion topic was presented to you out of sequence in Fireboard, true or false? In your case, the problems have only just begun as a result of migrating from Fireboard to Kunena. Is that what you are saying?

Does this problem occur with all discussion topics, or just some of them? Let's establish that this is genuinely a case of an identical problem to the original posting.
