The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.
The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.
Question Category and Forum Setup Question
I am using Kunena 1.5.8 (just released tonight) for our church's website. In order for our members to use the Kunena forum, they must have a "Registered" account on our website. Some of our members are a part of an Information Technology Committee, and I am upgrading their user status from "Registered" to "Author" within Joomla (we are using version 1.5.15 of Joomla).
I created a new Kunena category called "Small Groups and Committees". I want to leave this category open to anyone who has created an account on our website (basically from "Registered" all the way up to "Super Admin").
Within the "Small Groups and Committees" category, I have created a forum called "Information Technology Committee". I only want people with access of "Author" through "Super Admin" to be able to see this forum.
Basically, my tree structure looks like this:
Small Groups and Committees (seen by "Registered" through "Super Admin")
- Information Technology Committee (seen by "Author" through "Super Admin")

Small Groups and Committees (seen by "Registered" through "Super Admin")
- Public Access Level: Registered
- Include Child Groups: Yes
- Admin Access Level: Super Administrator
- Include Child Groups: Yes
Information Technology Committee (seen by "Author" through "Super Admin")
- Public Access Level: Author
- Include Child Groups: Yes
- Admin Access Level: Super Administrator
- Include Child Groups: Yes

I tried those settings exactly as you have them, but it's still not working correctly. Here's what I have tried using my "test" account set at these levels:
"Registered" --> does not show the "ITC" forum. That is good.
"Author" --> does not show the "ITC" forum. That is not good.
"Manager" --> does not show the "ITC" forum. That is not good.
"Super Admin" --> shows the "ITC" forum. That is good.
So, in summary, I am still really confused as to why, when I set my "test" account to either "Author" or "Manager", I cannot see the "ITC" forum like I should.
