When I or one of our users try to upload an Avatar we always get the following error message:

"JFile::copy: Cannot find or read file: '' "

My host has PHP 5.2.6. So this can not be the problem ...

Can you help me?

Thanks

Hello,

I think you have deleted your avatar which is on your computer, before that Kunena have been the time to upload the avatar.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

No, I didn't delete it. It is still there.

And I tried it several times. It doesn't work. The Avatar is on my computer the whole time and I am not going to delete it ... Why should I?

One question: Could it be a problem with the file format? It is an JPG file ... Must the Avatar be a GIF file?

Thanks for your answer.

Hi,

if the avatar is an JPG file. You can use .JPG .GIF and .PNG file for avatar.

I think there is a problem with a permission to write in the /tmp folder. CHMOD this folder to 755 ( drwxr-xr-x ) or 777 ( drwxrwxrwx ) and try to upload avatar.

the folder is in

{J! route}/tmp

I'm new to Kunena, and have installed the forums onto my website after testing the software on my localhost setup. Everything works flawlessly, with the exception of uploading avatars. I have changed permissions on folders to include:

/administrator/components/com_kunena (755)

/components/com_kunena (755)

/tmp (755)

I'm using the latest version of Kunena with Joomla 1.5.12. I keep getting the page shown in the picture:

Basically looks like I lost CSS and graphics for some reason. Image does not upload (it's a small gif). Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to remedy this? Am I missing a permission setting in another directory that is important? Thanks in advance!

Chris

Thanks. I gave it a try and I still get the same problem. I even set each directory to 777 and that didn't help either. Not sure what else to try at the moment.

I'm not sure whether your problem is a permission setting or not but, in terms of Joomla, I suggest you read docs.joomla.org/What_are_the_recommended...ctory_permissions%3F

I'm familiar with the permissions settings in Joomla, and they are set correctly. No problems with any other functions. Avatars work flawlessly on localhost installation.

Could it possibly be a memory limit issue? Thanks again for the help.
