1.5.7 installation was created by mumins
I uninstall 1.5.4, then install 1.5.7. (com_kunena_v1.5.7_stable_b1851_2009-11-18.zip ) through Upload Package File.

Apache/1.3.41 (Unix) PHP/5.2.8 with Suhosin-Patch Mysql/5.0.67
J1.5.14 permissions/max uplad size/memory limit/safe mode off/ ok

With enabled debug i got:

Joomla show Kunena in Extension Manager Kunena - 1.5.7 2009-11-18 www.Kunena.com .
Well - forum is runing, but i'm not sure, that everything is OK.

Lets try the same with older versions.. Uninstall and install K1.5.4. What happens?

Then try to install K1.5.7 without uninstalling first.

And if you uninstall kunena 1.5.7 and then check with a ftp-client if alle kunena files/folders are gone. Are they gone? If not. Delete them all en try to install kunena 1.5.7 again. Allways backup first!

So it's a permission problem in Joomla. Kunena installer installs files only to three locations:

components/com_kunena
administrator/components/com_kunena
images/fbfiles

Unfortunately there's no way to tell which file fails to install, as copying of the files is handled by Joomla, not by Kunena.

/api folder isn't copied as it is empty, so you should not worry about it. All the other files should be located in previous locations.

Of course was gone.

Hmm, looks like that was a problem, sorry for my panic.
Try to test tomorrow.
