Question cant install K1.5.5 on J1.5.14

I am running sites on a Virtual Dedicated Server and cannot change the PHP settings. When I install Kunena 1.5.4 or 1.5.5 on an older Joomla installation (triend 1.5.8) it works okay but on newer installations (tried 1.5.12 and 1.5.14) I get the white screen.

I have to install a lot of sites and need Kunena for most of them too and cannot change the PHP settings. What are other workarounds and is there away to fix this problem for newer Joomla installs? (All my new installs will be v14 and above)

I cannot imagine a very technical or labour intensive workaround is the way to get Kunena promoted as the #1 message board software.

Please provide an alternate solution.

No I have not, but I have not even begun to install Community Builder, I have tried a clean Joomla install (5.12 and 5.8, jsut to check) and still I get the white screen when installing.

Only thing I can think of is that I use a Dutch installer for my Joomla, but that really should not be a problem. Cannot stand these things, works on one site and does not on another. God would not play dice with the universe.

We are currently changing installation process to get rid of the limitations of Joomla installer. It is still work in process, so there is no immediate solution.

Wait: there may be one pretty fast way if you have ssh access..

Put the site offline, install older Joomla, upgrade Kunena, install latest Joomla and put site back to online. It should work.. :)

I am currently busy removing the entire domain, re-creating it from scratch including the dbase and them installing a clear plain vanilla joomla installation and then the Kunena 1.5.4. then back it up and start upgrading from there... I dunno if this will work.

Strange though I had other components to install which were much bigger / took longer / had more files then Kunena, tis an odd thing.
