I'm sorry, but this is another generalised statement that I have to disagree with.

When man invented fire there was no organisation. It just happened. Don't ask me how - I may be old, but I'm not that old - but somehow he learnt how to harness this new discovery by playing with it, by getting his fingers burnt. Mankind did not self-destruct because of fire or because of ignorance of how to use it properly.

Sometimes what people learn gets passed on from one generation to another, or one community to another, as "folklore". Sometimes the science gets lost and it's replaced with myth and legend. For example, if you believed that you could only start a fire whenever there was a lightning strike, we might still be living back in the caves. Thank goodness someone invented matches. By the way, have you ever seen an organised documentation manual for a box of matches?

So I say this to you and to others. Sometimes, when you lack a documented procedure, you have to teach yourself, spend large amounts of your day researching, experimenting, trial and error. Sometimes you might singe your fingers. Show me a builder without grubby fingers and I'll show you a person who has probably never built anything in their lives.

I like to be an "advanced user" too. That's why I frequent www.kunena.com ... to learn. Stay around here for 12 months and you're bound to learn something! ;)
