Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.
The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.
Question [Resolved] FB -> Kunena, next one
Let me try to summarise the really important points:
Fireboard is dead. Fireboard isn't "recently departed" - it's long gone. Fireboard was past its "use-by date" about 18 months ago but it's taken a long time to completely eradicate the defects and security holes that it was punctured with and that gave it such a bad reputation. Kunena has taken the overall design of Fireboard and given it such a kick-in-the-pants that the new forum doesn't bear much resemblance to its predecessor any more. In short, if you have Fireboard you are doing yourself and your users a grave disservice if you do not immediately upgrade to Kunena.
Your users will find Kunena different. Some of your users will like Kunena and some of them won't. Some of your users may even dislike Kunena so much that they'll turn tail and walk from your forum and never return. Be sorry for them but don't let them stand in the way of progress!
The site template is not the most important thing about your website. It never has been and it never should be. The most important thing about your website is your user involvement and, if you have good users, they won't care if your site is yellow with pink and olive polka dots! Likewise, the Kunena template is not the most important aspect of your forum, either. So what if the rest of your site has a red theme and your forum is blue. Sure, for a little while, your users will find this look a little odd but you can change it later.
What's more important is that you give your users the prospect of a better and brighter future ... not to retain a relic from the past that died sixteen months ago.
Yes, put K 1.5.9 into operation on your test site. (Actually, I'm surprised that K 1.5.11 hasn't yet been made available for public release but it's not even 7:00 AM on Sunday morning and I haven't read all my messages.) Familiarise yourself with it but don't waste time beginning the process of upgrading your life site. Make a plan. Let your users know what you're going to do. Backup your live site. Upgrade. Keep your users informed and let them know that the changes you are making are in their interest.

I finished manipulating the theme after 6 hours, since I have/had no clue about .css. I had Firebug installed, changed a certain color to a weird flashing green, reloaded website and then checked what part changed its color to green. Hehe, there is probably a more elegant way...
Anyway, I have three ?little? problems after I got the forum live - I added a picture (3 screenshots in one picture)
1.) You see the ",,,,Strf,,Placko" problem with the moderators? Maybe that has something to do with the administrators, who are invisible place-holders?
2.) When I answer a message, there should be a frame with different buttons. But the buttons are not there. I created and tested the website successfully on my laptop offline with XAMPP 1.71, which is using PHP 5.2.6, my host (Host Europe) is using 5.2.12. Could that be a problem?? I use everywhere Firefox 3.6.3. IE 8.0.6001.18702 has only broken links where the buttons should be, no matter if I run IE in compatibility view or not...
3.) My Avatars were with FB 1.0.5 RC2 about all the same size, now Kunena seems to implement them in original size, instead of resizing them. I checked already CB config and Kunena config, but it seems I'm blind - couldn't find anything.
I created a Test-User, will delete him again in 2 days.

For the benefit of others using our forums, we like to keep our discussions focused, on-topic, and deal with the issue at the heart of the subject. In this case we were answering a number of general questions about how to help you and your users move forward with Kunena.
Before we get into specific matters about how to help with the finer points of redesigning your website (as I mentioned in my earlier reply, this is one of the least important things you will have to deal with in migrating your website and your users), can I ask you one simple question: Have we answered the questions you asked at the beginning of this topic?
Your help in answering this question will help us help you (and other users looking at this topic later).
I suggest you start a separate topic about your template and design questions. Please read Before you ask for help with template issues ... for guidance.

My question in the beginning was in so far answered, that I found out, that I need to create my own template, since there is no plattform, which lists tons of templates and mine was not convertible.
So I edited the default template by manipulating
.../components/com_kunena/template/your_theme/kunena.forum.css
Useful for this job was
- Firebug-Addon for Firefox
- www.colorschemer.com/online.html
About your posting above. Although FB was old, I follow "Never change a running system", especially, when I have no clue how to get things right.
How we get this topic closed? I just delete my prior long posting and copy it to the correct forum-category?
Thank you,
Oliver
