Search engine optimization (SEO) can be a quite mysterious to new users of Joomla. Knowing how to implement the Joomla SEO features is actually something I would recommend to all users (not just those who use Kunena). But, once you've learned how to do it, it's a skill that will last a lifetime ... or for at least as long as we're using Joomla 1.5 and the world wide web! B)

There are a couple of things you need to make sure you setup properly: the Joola Global Configuration is only one area of changes that you need to make. You also need to have a webserver (like Apache) that supports SEO. And you probably need to have a webserver configuration file (like .htaccess) to handle the incoming HTTP requests.

What has all of this got to do with Kunena. Everything! Kunena uses whatever Joomla SEO you have installed. You can use third-party SEO tools (like sh404SEF) but, from what limited evidence I've seen, these may cause more harm than good.

Can you explain better what login request you want to get rid? I don't understand what you mean.

i can't enable SEF Urls either. I see that the htaccess file needs to be renamed for apache users. How is this done?
