The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.
The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

I have set the Kunena Admin as follows:
Search Engine Friendly URLs is set to NO
Do Not Use Category IDs is set to NO
Enable UTF8 Support is set to NO
I have send notification emails to moderators set to YES
Emails to Admins set to NO.
What is the next step in troubleshooting?
Sincerely,
Howard

Your decision to not use SEF links is yours entirely, and that's not a problem.Search Engine Friendly URLs is set to NO
So, let's get back to the issue of how you have disabled Joomla's Search Engine Optimization (SEO) settings (I assume that's what you mean). In the article that I wrote for the Wiki, Search engine optimization (SEO) , I described how it was important to have three settings used in conjunction with the .htaccess file. However, if you want to "set" "Search Engine Friendly URLs = No" (as you wrote) you need to set three parameters as follows:
Search Engine Friendly URLs: No
Use Apache mod_rewrite: No
Add suffix to URLs: No.
Is this what you have done?

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Could you please explain where you can change this setting. I'm sorry, I've not come across this term before. Perhaps you could provide us with a screen image?Do Not Use Category IDs is set to NO

Again, I am puzzled by this setting and where it comes from. What version of Kunena are you using? Also, what version of Joomla are you using?Enable UTF8 Support is set to NO
Do you have a test account we could use to see your forum in operation, please? You can PM me if you would prefer not to advertise the information publicly.

The settings I mentioned in my most recent post are all options in the latest Kunena 1.5.8 Admin Config. There is nothing fancy here, no coding at all. Just go to Kunena Config and you will see these choices. I promise I didn't make them up.
If you see a problem with my settings that could be causing the 404 errors, I'm all ears. I may not have the technical expertise to change what needs to be changed but I have a Joomla guy who can do it. Or, maybe you can guide me to do them. That would be very appreciated.
If you are willing to chat with me say on skype, we could do some adjustments and I may feel comfortable giving you access to my Site Admin so you can see what I'm doing. I can't do this without knowing the person at least to some extent.
Thanks for your input so far. Seems like you are more interested than Valanx support in helping me.
Sincerely,
Howard

I've just installed K 1.5.8 on a test server and I'm still feeling my way "in the dark", as it were, with this new version so, I'm sorry, I'm not much use to you. It's possible that you've discovered a defect?
May I ask, did the e-mail notification features work in the previous version of Kunena? I don't make much use of the e-mail notifications but, as far as I'm aware, I haven't seen many examples of your problem discussed here (with K 1.5.7, at least).
I should imagine (but I can't be sure) that you would be able to go back to K 1.5.7. Would you be willing to try?
Last of all (and this is somewhat grasping at straws) do you have any particular reasons for disabling the Joomla Search Engine Optimization settings?
