Question Forums do not display

Forums do not display was created by thomaz
Just installed Kunena.
(Joomla 1.5.14 and Jomsocial)

Created two new categories and six forums, three under each category.

When I created a new category I selected form the pulldown "No Parent"
In the notes you state "To create a category, choose 'Top Level Category' as a parent."
but this choice is not available only "No Parent"

I've used Fireboard before with no problems.. am I missing something? :(

I have tried every combination in the config from changing the template to "Use Joomla Style?" and still no forums show up.

thanks

Hi thomaz,

here is useful documentation for creating forum and category docs.kunena.com/index.php/How_to_create_...Forums_and_Subforums

and be sure to publish all forums.

Regards

I know how to setup categories and forums. It's the same as Fireboard which I used to use. I don't want to use Fireboard because I do not want to run in Joomla Legacy mode.

Anyway, just to make sure nothing was changed I checked out the "How to create Categories, Forums and Subforums" of Kunena Docs. And I'm doing exactly that.

still no Categories show and no forums and there is not a "New Thread" link anywhere to be found.

I've setup Jomsocial integration in the Configuration section of Kunena - would this cause a problem?
I'm also using the mynxx Rocket template as well -- problems there?

I've also re-installed Kunena twice.

any ideas?

Make sure you are not using the dreaded RokCandy plugin. Do you have any problems when you use a "standard" Joomla theme like rhuk_milkyway? Have you searched the forum for other explanations about why your "forums do not display"? Other than these things, and possibly providing us with a link to your website which might help us to help you, make sure you've published your forum categories as @quila reminded you to do.
