Copy entire forum content from one site to another was created by YorkshireLions
Hi.
I want to move my forum content from www.yorkshirelions.com/joomla2/index.php...com_kunena&Itemid=29
to
www.yorkshirelions.com/avsc/index.php?op...com_kunena&Itemid=54
Is there a quick way for fick people?
(Hi Sozzled - long time no see)
Cheers, Bruce.

Just use phpmyadmin to copy all the jos_fb tables (you also need to copy joomla users and acl).

That's sounds dead easy. Is there some standards I could follow as I've never done this before. Cheers.

Only that you should take backup before doing anything.
NOTE: I assumed that you do not have any users in the new site, so you can truncate/delete old tables and just overwrite them.
If you want to keep your current users in the new site, task of moving users is not easy at all. I'm slowly developing a tool to do just that, but.. Like I said, it's not a easy problem to be solved.
Here are Joomla tables that you need to copy:
jos_core_acl_* (5 of them)
jos_users
jos_session

I can see the files in Plesk database admin but I've never done this before and have a penchant for stuffing things up. Have you used Plesk before?

I use Joomlapack (now known as Akeeba Backup) - does everything.
