Hello,

I am using the kunena component version 1.5.9 in a joomla based website. The forum works well with all the posts but the problem is with the rss feed. When I click the rss feed I dont see any feed results.

Initially I had the following problem.
Invalid xml declaration.
Line: 2 Character: 3

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

I removed the above line in the kunena.rss.php file. With this i could overcome the above error but I still dont see any of the forum posts in the feed result page.
I have attached the image file which doesnt contain any rss posts.

Could anyone please help me with this issue.

Thank You.

The "invalid xml declaration" - which isn't a very helpful explanation as to what is occurring - could possibly arise from one of the following situations: However, you have chosen to conceal the problem (even though it's probably still there) by editing the file kunena.rss.php.

We've had many discussions about RSS feeds, especially from those users who like to keep their forums accessible only to their registered members, and only then when they are logged in. As you may be able to conclude, RSS feeds are public. There is no "login" process. See RSS Feed for Registered Users?

Do any of these circumstances apply to you?

Let me be absolutely clear on this:
  1. You have all the requisite software for Jomsocial? You are not using any third-party JomSocial plugins?
  2. You have messages that are publicly viewable? Perhaps it would be helpful if you provided us with the URL of your website where you are having your problem?
  3. What values have you defined in your Kunena configuration settings for RSS feeds?
  4. Does your problem persist if you revert to the [supported] default_ex Kunena template?
I believe you when you say that you have a problem. I'm just trying to help you explain what you might have done to contribute to the problem, that's all. :)

Thanks for continous replies...

i) I have all the requisite software for the jomsocial...I am not using any third party jomsocial plugins.

ii) Website I am developing is a company website....

iii) Kunena Configuration RSS Feeds:

Enable RSS Feed: Yes
Default RSS Type: By Post
Rss History : 1 Week
Enable PDF Creation: Yes

4) The problem still persists when I use the default_ex template...

Thanks
