Kunena 7.0.2 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.2 [K 7.0.2] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.3.x/5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

The Joomla language is set to en-GB, however, I did do the copy you recommended. Having a member test for me so I will report back.

EDIT: seems to be working now with no 500 error. Thanks for the suggestions folks!

You have additionally installed en-US for Joomla. In this case, users can select the desired language in their profile. Who has chosen the language en-US, had this error.
In the forum itself (without extensions) it is not noticeable, because en-GB is automatically used in case of missing language strings.
