i am using joomla 1.5.11, ive installed kunena on it before. same exact site and everything, the reason for the reinstall is that the site crashed and i had to start over with my old database. (the data base does not have any forum info on it). so when i got to extension . install/uninstall i install this stable version. it site and loads, about 5 mins later it is still loading and installing. 5 more pass and i get a 500 error with a 404 as well.
if i could get any advice that would be great
P.S. i have tried the 1.5 as well, same results. i even had a friend located somewhere else try, same results
*edit*
>.> found a quick fix by accident
i just uninstalled sh404sef, and removed the tables it said it could not delete from my database. then i installed kunena. it worked. so don't have sh404sef running, preferred to not even be there before installing kunena. then you can install sh404sef if you want afterwards.
what lead me to do this, the login log out feature was failing, leading to 404 errors that where no redirected to the componet it self (meaning i got the typical appache 404 error. not the article sh404.)
*edit 2*
i suggest using the joomla 1.5 htaccess mod rewrite.
also i had 2 htaccess files in my server that i did not notice a .htaccess and a htaccess.txt the first one was empty >.> so everything was user error and not the server or the component

Hello,

do you use a sef component ?

You have tried to delete all table jos_fb_* in your database and re-installed Kunena ?

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

I don't know if this helps, but I wrote an article a couple of months ago called Help with solving the HTTP 500 Internal server error

PHP does not work? Possibly you don't understand how to set up a testbed on your own computer. Install WAMP. XAMP. JSAS. Or one of these. extensions.joomla.org/extensions/tools/standalone-servers

We love stars on the Joomla Extension Directory . :-)

ok cool, i will try this. but keep the ideas coming, i am guessing there is more than one way to fix this. giving out different options in one area is always a good idea
