Hi,

I am looking for a way to display an individual category (I call announcements) on the front page of my joomla site. I don't mean the front page of kunena. I would also consider just showing all "announcements" from any category if that is possible.

So I have a page with a link to my "Message Board". That's where kunena is. I want my main page to display either the announcement category or all announcements from all categories almost like a module on my main page.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

machoman

anyone? please? :(

actually, I'm not sure if I was clear.. please let me know if I need to be more specific.. seems I could use like a RSS feed of a particular category?? Or if I just display all posts marked as "announcements".

anyone?

There is a latest posts MODULE. But if you're talking about in the articles area then no.

We love stars on the Joomla Extension Directory . :-)

2 problems with latest posts.. 1) I do want it in the main body (articles area).. 2) that shows latest posts from anyone.. I really just want my office announcements to be displayed and clicking on the link will take you to the forum where the whole announcement is shown.

thanks for the response tho!

Perhaps you can realize this anyhow with discussbot ->
www.objectclarity.com/index.php?option=c...view&id=22&Itemid=46

But I see a few problems: First, I don't know if it works with Kunena 1.0.10.
Then: you have in Kunena only one announcement, not more.

With discussbot you can discuss about articles in Forum, you could make this a closed forum, so only the article will be shown, without the possibility to discuss about it.
You could name this forum "announcements".

This question has had me tossed for an answer ever since it was posted. I was fairly sure that you could build something fairly easily within Joomla. Have you tried to develop a solution using Joomla's built-in Content - Load Module plugin?

Basically you could approach the problem by, somehow, creating a "clone"/copy of your usual Kunena forum module that only displays the specific category containing your announcements. This shouldn't be too difficult (but it's the hardest part of the procedure). After you figure out how to do that, the rest of the process is easy: create an article that contains only a {loadposition pos} tag, publish the article on the front page, and force your custom module into Joomla's template "position" pos.

I'll leave you to research the details.
