Thank you to the moderators for unlocking this discussion topic. Although werdnags worked around his original problem there's still an issue for K 1.0.10: we haven't discovered its cause.

I'm puzzled. werdnags claims:

After a bit of thought I have scrapped the site and upgraded to 1.5. E verything is now okay. Thanks for your feedback.

Is this Joomla 1.5 or Kunena 1.5? Did the problem only occur because werdnags was using J! 1.0 (which is what I asked earlier but the topic was locked before I received a reply)? Was that the reason? :S

I received a couple of private messages from another user who suggested that a Kunena parameter might be involved: Joomla Mambot Support = yes. Because mambots are J! 1.0 things, I was unaware that this configuration parameter has any significance in a J! 1.5 website. Perhaps this setting should not be used for K 1.0.10 in a J! 1.0 environment and maybe this is what is causing several other K 1.0.10 problems for J! 1.0 users?

@werdnags: could you confirm whether it was Joomla or Kunena that you upgraded that fixed your problem, please. :)

Kunena 1.0.10 sets Joomla Mambot Support to no for security reasons. User needs to manually turn it back on, even on J1.0 site.

Mambot support haven't changed for J!1.0 users -- I just added support for Joomla 1.5. Of course it may be broken in J1.0..

As it was a new site on I had nt done much work on it,I upgraded to Joomla 1.5. Once I installed this and used the relevant Kunena component all is fine.

Thanks for your feedback.

OK. So all that we know is that Joomla 1.0 was a factor in creating conditions that caused this problem. I think we should chalk this up as another possibility that K 1.0.10 may not be compatible with J 1.0.x? ...

We need to fix this, if someone wants to work with K1.0.11.. I want a stable release for J1.0 users.

Hi there,

I've just upgraded both CB and Kunena on a Joomla 1.0.13 and am experiencing the same problem. One thing I can contribute is that bizarrely this only happens with new registrations.

If I log in as a user who existed before the upgrade the template loads as expected. If I'm a new user then I get no Joomla template, just a raw output of Kunena with no style sheet loaded and debug information continuing down at the bottom of the page.

And before anyone says upgrade to Joomla 1.5, it just ain't that easy with a large site.

I'd specifically talked my client into upgrading Kunena and CB because of the advertised integration between the two components.

I also think that it's important that the 1.0.x series of Kunena should work with Joomla 1.0.13 - given that essentially it's a native component for that series and only run in Legacy mode for 1.5 - just doesn't make sense for it not to work with the version it's actually native for.

Anyway I desperately need a fix for this or I'm going to have waste my Saturday rolling the whole thing back.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks

Nathan
