Hello,

I have been using Fireboard 1.0.4 Stable for a couple of months now with no serious issues.

I had been asked to make the forums publicly readable which I did by changing the category Public Access Level to Everybody.

I tried to then create a category which which only members can see and post to, so created another category with PAL set to All Registered, I called this 'Members Chat'. My logged in users can not see the 'Members Chat' category or any of the threads I created in it.

Can anyone see anything wrong in what I am doing.

Thanks

David

What's wrong with just registered? Mind you these Joomla access levels are not made to function with Kunena.

The users would like visitor who are not registered to be able to read the forum posts, but not post to the forum. I will need a section which visitors who are not registered cannot see though. So we can talk about them ;)

I meant what happens if you set the new category to just "Registered"? BTW is there a problem using the settings in Kunena to make the whole forum Read Only for guests?

When I set the new category to registered, no one can see it, apart from the Administrative user.

I have set the whole forum to be readonly for guests already.

If you're still using FB there was a hack to get this working I think. www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,co...t,10/limitstart,250/
I believe this is the only way to accomplish what you are trying to do other than something like GroupJive.
