Hi Amby, you are really sure, that this forum has the same settings, like the other forums? What is with the parent category "Verbal"? Is it set too for public access?

Please try these settings for Category (parent) Verbal
and for the forum Grammar:

Locked: no

Public Access Level: Everybody
Include Child Groups: Yes
Admin Access Level: Public Backend
Include Child Groups: Yes

Review posts: no

I have made sure that these are the settings , But still the problem remains .

In the back end there is some column called check out . Sometimes i see one of the administrators name there .

After upgrading to 1.0.10 . I had changed two files as per tony woodhouse to get the karma , forum posts and forum ranking in CB .

Then i had some php error at line 1292 when using advancd search . I replaced that file with one of the files available on te forums .

Does that have any connection with this ??

I think i will reinstall 1.0.10 now . If it doesnt work i will have to go back to 1.0.7 .

Please help ,
Amby

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Lintzy , i am glad to let you know that i have found the problem .

I had created a forum called 'Grammar' and then i deleted it .
Later on when i created the forum with the same name 'Grammar' , i used to get the error message .

same happened for another forum called "Parajumbles" .

I thought i should rename them . I renamed "Grammar" to "Grammar."
and "parajumbles" to "parajumbles."

It is working now . Maybe two entries with the same name in the table gives that error .

Thank you for help ,
Amby .

I have awarded karma to you :)

SO my conclusion is when you delete a particular forum in Joomla back end in kunena forums in "Forum administration" , that entry goes away from the backend , but still remains in th table .

Whenever you have two entries in a table , sys does not understand which one of the two is to be referred and it gives an error .

Ideally this should not happen .

1) it should either delete that entry correctly .
2) if there is already an entry , it should not allow us to create another .
