Question Fatal Error on setting Public Access Level

Hi guys!

I have successfully installed the Kunena forum. Everything worked fine untill I've created a new Category and have set the "Public Access Level" to "Author".

Since I have made this change, I'm no longer able to connect to the forum's front-end. Instead, I get a Fatal error.

Fatal error: Non-static method CKunenaTools::_has_rights() cannot be called statically in [...]/components/com_kunena/class.kunena.php on line 811

The problem seems to be related to the "Public Access Level" setting. When I set it back to "all registered", everything works well.

Does anyone has any suggestions?

Joomla access levels do not work on Kunena.

When I set the "Public access level" in the Kunena Forum Administration, I have 6 choices in the listbox including "Author, Editor and Publisher". Can you tell me why those choices are there if they don't work?

Is there a way to limit users to some categories or forums?

Some will advise on weird workarounds but the fact is that these have been options since the beginning of FireBoard and it didn't work then and have never worked.
