Message Reporting "Error" was created by NYQutie
Hey!
For some reason those who are members to my forum receive messages like this: A new post has been made to a forum to which you have assigned as moderator on the The Moolah Lounge Forum. The funny thing is the message isn't even addressing the actual member who has received the message, but another member in our case Dominique who is NOT a forum moderator.
The problem is I don't have anyone assigned as a moderator on any board. I don't know why my people are receiving messages with other members names stating they are moderators when they are not.
Please HELP me with this issue.
Here is a sample email below the person who received this email was not Dominique

Thank you I have looked over the threads you provided.
However, I am NOT having problems receiving emails as the Administrator of the forum. The problem is that others are receiving emails stating they are Moderators when they are not, and the email is being sent to all members, however the name as I stated in my example isn't actually the person who received the email.
So for example:
The email is address to Dominique, but Samantha is the one getting the emails and neither of them are moderators.
A few other things:
1. I have Uddeim private messaging plugin installed.
2. I periodically send out mass emails so I assumed that "Receive System E-mails" must be on.
3. I also have the E-mail Moderators and E-mail Administrators set to NO because I just subscribe to the threads I want to be notified of when there has been a post made.
4. My forum isn't set to moderation my people can post freely thread that I don't wish them to post is are simply locked.
HELP is still NEEDED!
Thanks

2. Users who have Receive System E-mails = yes means that those users will get all the administration emails sent by Joomla. So I would turn this setting off and look for another solution (email sending component?)
3. Check again those settings. I've already looked at this code and it should work just fine. No other settings have any effect on emails sent to moderators.

This should be made clear in installation documentation - I read the documentation and didn't see anything to this effect.
I just installed the forum - it isn't even live to my users yet - I posted a test message on the forum and the next thing all the users who have email set to "yes" in Joomla get notifications that there is a message on the board, and it states that they are moderators of the forum. This has been quite embarrassing!
Surely there should be another setting differentiating who actual moderators are.

If I understand the point that Matias made, if Kunena's configuration settings look like what's shown in the following (partial) screenshot, and if either setting is changed to "yes", then emails will be sent to users who are defined as moderators or administrators as appropriate.
However, if I understand the other side of the situation (as reported here and elsewhere) if a user is defined by the Joomla User Manager facility in the following manner then they will receive e-mail notifications of all newly-posted Kunena messages (in terms "describing" them as Kunena moderators!) irrespective of whether they are Kunena forum moderators!? :side:
Is that a fair précis if the situation?
I have two comments to make:

I have two comments to make:
- I have difficulty believing that users, who are defined (Receive System E-mails = yes) as shown in the second image above, receive e-mail notifications of all new Kunena postings independently of the Kunena configuration settings. I use the settings shown in both images above and I don't receive notifications of all new messages posted to the forums on my websites. On this basis I think there's something else involved in causing the situation reported here.
- You should only define users (Receive System E-mails = yes) those people who will be involved in website administration. In other words, people who have a need to receive system e-mails, for example Editors, Publishers, Managers, Administrators and/or Super-Administrators according to how you want to administer your website "business". Registered user types would have to have an extraordinary, extremely rare requirement to be involved in this area ... in other words no requirement at all! But, further, this setting cannot be changed by ordinary users themselves, either; the setting can only be changed by a Manager, Administrator, Super-Administrator at the backend and, by default, "non-backend users" are incorporated into your user database with the setting Receive System E-mail = no.
