Actually I dont get an error message. Its just that when I Browse for the image I wan to upload then I place the "img"in the message I hit preview and nothing happens. It does not upload?
Am I doing something wrong?

Have you checked the folder ../media/kunena/attachments/legacy on your server to ensure that the file that you uploaded has been successfully uploaded? Try the same test again; use a small-sized file that's less than 150 Kb. Chances are that you tried to upload a file that was over-sized and you didn't see Kunena's advice in that respect - it's easy to do (I've had this happen to me several times).

Please check on server (ftp) what chown rights are given to the folder /media/kunena/attachments/legacy and all recursive folders too - they must be set to 755

and what chown rights the images themselves have, this should be 644.

If the images got the chown 600 or less, please tell it here and what Joomla version you have. That is an error, that happens sometimes, and it gives an existing fix for Joomla 1.5.x only.

I edited the size allowed in configuration and now it uploads when I submit.
I have two questions for you'

1. Can the image be uploaded during preview? Its confusing when you dont see the image at this stage. I think most folks will think it aint working

2. How can I add my own BB code?

Thanks,
Googo

I'm pleased to read that you've had a successful outcome to your earlier problem. B) With respect to (1) above, I'm not aware that the preview function should upload any images. If the preview function gave your users to the means to upload images, your users could upload images and never submit their messages to the forum. This would leave you with the housekeeping job of clearing out images that weren't attached to any forum messages. I would strongly suggest that you shouldn't attempt to modify Kunena in this way. If you want your users to upload images, use another Joomla component, like JoomGallery, that allows them the means to do this and also the ability to link their images to their forum posts ... if that's what they want to do. A preview facility is a preview, yes, but that doesn't mean it should replace the final view in order to display images that aren't yet uploaded to a webserver.

As far as question (2) is concerned, there are a few people at www.kunena.com who are interested in, and involved with, customised BBcode for Kunena. The best suggestion that I can make is that you search the forums at this site (use the term BBcode in your search) to find help in this area.
