Question Kunena1.0.9 installed, menu created.. error 500??

HI All, I have installed Kunena1.0.9 onto my Joomla and it appears to have installed properly, I can access the admin section without any problems, create categories, etc, etc.

The problem is that if I create a menu item pointing to the forums and click on it, I dont get any response from the server, just an 500 response code.. no error message, title or anything.

I've tried re-installing but that doesnt seem to help.

Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

Link to site? What is the content of your menu item? Can you access the forum directly? url-to-your-site/components/com_kunena

Do you have any sef/seo enabled?

Dont have SEO enabled yet, going to play around with that later on, so its simple query string params at the moment.

The menu url created by selecting the kunena menu type is...

81.21.74.111/joomla/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=53

Attempting to access directly ( 81.21.74.111/joomla/components/com_kunena/ ) has same affect.

Something thats confusing me is that when I install the package it says...

"Upgrading "com_kunena" (Version: 1.5.0a / Version Date: 2009-04-03 / Install Date: 2009-04-07 / Build: 1412 / Version Name: Language)"

Notice the version 1.5.0a, even though I installed 1.0.9 and thats what it says in the components manager?

Also, when I am in the Kunena back end manager a version of 1.5.0a is stated, not 1.0.9?

did you install form file? Can you verify the file you installed from? Is it com_kunena_v1.0.9_b1231_2009-04-03 or com_kunena_v1.5.0a_b1412_2009-04-03 ???

I installed com_kunena_v1.5.0a_b1412_2009-04-03 first, then ran into this problem so decided I'd try 1.0.9 and had the same problem.

After uninstalling 1.0.9 last time (dont it several times now) I had a good look around the installation to see if anything was left over by the 1.5.0 install.. I cant see anything, folder deleted from components folder and entry removed from components table in MySQL.
