I really like the Recent Discussions Tab in the forum and was wondering, would it be possible to edit a Joomla Block to just include this part of the Recent Discussions Tab seen in this image but able to perhaps only show 10 topics.

I think this would be great for the front page of the site. It's not the entire forum but it gives users a view of topics that are on the go but also have the rest of the front page to look at.

You can make your Kunena component your site home page. (see How do I change the Home Page of my site? )

You can limit the number of topics displayed with the Kunena parameter "Threads per page" (set the value to 10) - the default value is 20.

I know I can make it my homepage, but is it possible like the image above to remove the other contents of the page so that all I see is like above.

I would like to have this view plus other items on my front page.

The short answer is no (only because I don't understand what you mean by "other contents" that you want to remove)

You have a menu item that points to your Kunena forum? Yes? Your Default Kunena Page (see your configuration parameters) is "Recent Discussions"? Yes? Then set your menu link as your default/home page, publish whatever other modules - I assume this is what you mean by "plus other items on my front page" - you like on it and you're all done. B)

Not sure how else to word it. As I said, I want to see a block of some sort with what you see in the image above. Not the entire page.

I know how to make Kunena my main page, but what I'm trying to say is that I would like to have the contents of the "Recent Discussions" tab only to be show in a block/area on my front page.

So rather than having a front page that is completely full looking like this:

I would like to see a block on the front page that literally just shows what is seen here in this image:

img134.imageshack.us/img134/602/recentdiscussionskunenag.gif

My reason for this is because I would like to have something on the front page that connects to the Kunena forum, but do not like the looks of the "Latest Topics" module/extension but the looks of the "Recent Discussions" tab from the forum looks very nicely done that it would look nice on the front page with other front page items.

Just enough to show the forum but have everything else that would be on a front page.

Either-way I'm going to guess that this would be to hard to edit right now into a block. Would use a wrapper but can't get that specific area chosen.

Pause for a moment and think about what you are asking. You want a module - remember: just about everything in Joomla is a module - that mimics the standard Kunena display. You don't want to change the standard Kunena forum module because you're happy with the way it works when you select "go to my Kunena forum page"?

You'll have to develop your own "my Kunena front page display" module.
