During installation of kunena on 1.5, I was warned to enable legacy mode, and I had to increase php timeout, as mentioned in the release notes.
I'm particularly happy because 1.08 greatly improves the reverse time layout, which was was my first request to Kunena in January. Also I am glad to see a mention of the broken gifs in the release notes. I tried to tell the fireboard folks about it back in October, and after trying to correct what was intended as a helpful observation, they told me off for being stupid. All one has to do is copy over the corrupted gifs from somehwere else. They tried insisting there were no corrupted gifs in the package, but now I feel greatly validated that kunena has found the same problem
FYI: The gifs in the package are indeed not corrupted. The J 1.0.x installer corrupts them during uncompress. If you open that package locally, the files will be fine and can be copied by hand. Anoying but we have not found a work around so far. Does not happen on J1.5.x
