My web site currently uses Fireboard version 1.0.5RC1. I want to wait until the 1.5 native version of Kunena is released before I upgrade. Will I be able to upgrade directly from my version of Fireboard or do I need to upgrade Fireboard to Kunena 1.0.8 first?

Also, I have done quite a bit of customization to the default Fireboard template. Mainly in the color scheme but I have also removed/hidden certain sections to make it a much cleaner look. How can I upgrade and not lose those changes?

Yes, you can upgrade directly, although, for security issues, I would recommend to upgrade to Kunen a right now, is not that fireboard 1.0.5 works any better either ;)

About losing your template, you can just backup first, it will be deleted as soon as you uninstall fireboard... but it will mostly not work with kunena, at least not perfectly

you should check docs.kunena.com to see the changes needed to upgrade templates.
