Kunena 7.0.4 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
Question Moving Firboard databases to a neu Kunena
- It got many good reviews over at JED...I looked at that product and it didn't make me feel comfortable in using it after reading the web page. Doesnt seem to be ready for the big show yet, its one of those, it might work, it might not work, but will I know exactly what didnt work?
I have used the mtwmigrator to migrate Joomla site and the core joomla user db, worked like a charm! This was before kunena so I cant say if will work for kunena. It doesnt alter your J1.0 install so it doesn't hurt to try.
The only way to find out it to backup and test. Always test before going into production! Nobody can give you a 100% guarantee that it will work...
If you aren't confident to do the migration you self you should consider hiring some professional.
You are talking about two different thing here, updating from fireboard to Kunena and migrating from J1.0 to J1.5.
If you can wait for the Kunena version for J1.5 running native mode you should probably wait for that and update your J1.0 + fireboard to Kunena first.
I have used the php script I provided in post #6214 . I have also used it on the CB tables (comprofiler). I have checked the numbers of posts, numbers of users etc and in my case it is identical, otherwise I couldn't used it for migration!

NOTE: One thing though...the users were in the new database from the old forum but once I sync'ed them with the new site they were removed! I didn't need the old users so I didn't mess with this.
Hope this helps!!
Do you know why this happened, and how to prevent it?
I'm planning on testing out several of the ideas I have read on this forum tomorrow on my day off. Trying to get as much done on that day on my test back up server as possible and get this procedure down.
