Question Installation Requirements

I've been fighting all day with this.. initially it was getting Kunena to complete the install [SQL has gone away...]; then it was trying to get Fireboard 1.05RC2 back, which finally worked (I had skipped the 1.05 upgrade and went to Kunena.. oops!!).

.. i'm past the issues mentioned above; now I see the following when I try to install:

I N S T A L L : F A I L E D - Minimum Version Requirements not satisfied

php version: 4.3.11 Required >= 4.3.0
mysql version: 4.1.22-max-log Required >= 5.0.0


I'm running GoDaddy shared hosting.. is there anyway I can fix this?

The tech requirements for all Kunena versions as well as FB 1.0.5 always required MySQL 5.0 or higher. The software did not check on install, but by ignoring that requirement the board will throw errors more or less often.

We added this check on 1.0.8 to make sure people 'see' the problem during the install.

If you want to run on anything older than MySQL 5.0 you can only go up to FB 1.0.4. The performance improvements of all later versions require MySQL 5.0 or higher.

This site also runs at GoDaddy and I suggest you contact them. I am sure they can move you onto a more up-to-date host.

All version older than MySQL 5.0 have been officially end-of-live'd by MySQL and are no longer supported.

Might want to consider this when deploying your new web site.

TY! I will contact GoDaddy. Right now FB1.05RC2 seems to be running ok but I haven't posted anything on my forums soo... we'll see!!

I am getting this exact error, the only thing is.... I have the latest PHP 5+ installed and the latest version of MySQL 5+ installed... so I'm not sure why I'm getting this error. I run my own dedicated server, and I have checked my installation versions and they are indeed correct. Is there a way to disable this Check, because it doesn't seem to be working as intended. Thanks.

Joomla System Info even tells me I have the correct PHP Version, even though the Kunena 1.08 install tells me I don't.

Can you give us your error message during install?

I don't believe that the problem is in PHP as it usually is in MySQL server. Remember that you may have new version of MySQL client, but old server.
