I have a really old Fireboard version 1.0.0-beta and want to upgrade to Kunena. Any tips or suggestions or is it simply an uninstall of Fireboard and a Kunena install.

Thanks in advance!

To upgrade or to uninstall, that is the question! Well, it depends. It depends on whether you have lots of messages that you want to preserve. If you've got no messages, then I would say (without hesitation) uninstall Fireboard and install Kunena in its place. If you have an investment that you want to protect, you could try upgrading but you must know that upgrading is a two-step process.

Because you're upgrading from a really ancient version of Fireboard, you will need to first run the fbconverter tool, then upgrade to Fireboard 1.0.4 before you can upgrade to Kunena. The information on the process is written somewhere in the forum category where you posted this topic.

What version of Kunena you choose to upgrade depends on what version of Joomla you are running. If you are running J! 1.0.x you are limited to K 1.0.10; if you are running J! 1.5.x you can install K 1.5.3.

Does this answer your questions? :)
