Hello, I installed Kunena 1.0.10 with the Joomla1.5 installer and it failed, I activated legacy and it succeeded. Next, I set up the Kunea configs and forum admin settings. At that point I figured I would be able to figure out where to create posts or at least see a forum displayed. Maybe I am missing a few steps?

For some reason I can't figure out where the forum actually displays, on what URL. I have my site set up on localhost, i.e. http://localhost/joomla15/index.php/home. Do I have to link to it, or create a forum.html?

Sorry, I'm new to Joomla and probably missing something really obvious.

Sidenote: Maybe this has something to do with it??I tried to edit the CSS file in the Kunena Template CSS Editor and this is what I saw.

Warning: fopen(D:xampphtdocsjoomla15/components/com_kunena/template/default_ex/kunena.forum.css) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\xampp\htdocs\joomla15\administrator\components\com_kunena\admin.kunena.html.php on line 2458

Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for D:xampphtdocsjoomla15/components/com_kunena/template/default_ex/kunena.forum.css in D:\xampp\htdocs\joomla15\administrator\components\com_kunena\admin.kunena.html.php on line 2459

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in D:\xampp\htdocs\joomla15\administrator\components\com_kunena\admin.kunena.html.php on line 2459

Can anyone help? Did the install not unzip in the correct directories? Where is my forum!?! :side:

Thanks!

Hello,

you need to create a new menu link, go in the joomla backend, then select menus and choose main menu, then select new, you choose now Kunena Forum, you need to type a name and when you go on the frontpage of your site your will see a link to your forum.

For the CSS editor problem look this : www.kunena.com/forum?func=view&catid=93&id=17040#17423

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

I copied and replaced the administrator/components/com_kunena/admin.kunena.php successfully. I checked the main menu for any "add new" option and I don't see it. All I can think of is adding a link, and I don't know what the URL would be, or adding an article and that doesn't have anything to do with teh forum. Thanks!

You're making it harder than it is. Menus>Main Menu>New (icon top right)>Click on Kunena in the tree. The rest should be self-explanatory.

Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the Joomla help pages.

Perhaps I am missing something? This is what it looks like in the Main Menu. I really don't see any "new" option. Thanks for putting up with me :)

Follow the instructions carefully. That is the control panel. Not the main menu. Look at the top left. Did you read any of the help documents at the links I provided?
