Kunena 6.4.13 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.13 [6.4.13] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.0
Hint: This version is primarily intended to facilitate an upgrade if Joomla was first updated to version 6.1 before Kunena was up to dated.

Upgrading Kunena is just like installing Kunena ... only easier. Upgrading is child's play! There are detailed instuctions at docs.kunena.com/index.php/Upgrade_Instructions but the basic approach is simply this: uninstall the existing version of Kunena then install the new version of Kunena ... about 3 minutes' work.
You should backup your website before you upgrade. You may choose to ignore this step. A number of people have recommended that you use Joomlapack to do the backup. That sounds like good advice to me.
You will have complications with Kunena if you do not upgrade Community Builder at the same time. Go to www.joomlapolis.com to obtain CB 1.2.1.
You may or may not have complications with Kunena because you've used sh404SEF. A number of users have advised that they prefer to exclude Kunena from sh404SEF. I don't know anything about sh404SEF but you may find the discussion Why would I need ANY third-party SEF plugin? helpful.
You should upgrade from K 1.0.7b; there probably aren't too many people who could help you if you have problems with it.
Cheers

Thank you so very much for replying . I was dying for this reply .
I have backed up my site using joomla pack . Now i know how to upgrade kunena from 1.0.7b to 1.0.10 . Its just uninstall and installing the new one .
But i dont know how to upgrade CB from 1.2 to 1.2.1 . I went to CB forums but all the discussions seemed weird to me . All jargon .
How can i install CB 1.2.1 ? Is it same like Kunena ?? uninstall CB 1.2 and install CB 1.2.1 ?
Also what should I uninstall first . CB / Kunena ?
and then What should i install first , CB / kunena ?
I hope SH404sef works without disturbing .
Looking up ragerrrly for you reply Sozz .
Please advise .

The problem with Community Builder is that, when you uninstal CB 1.2, you also lose any installed CB plugins (however, it's very easy to restore them again).
Community Builder has a very detailed installation guide included in the installation kit. Read it through very carefully, from beginning to end. You should have a test/development site. Do the upgrade there first, to see what possible problems you're going to face when you do the upgrade in the live environment. If you don't have a test/development site I'd have to ask you "why not?"
Community Builder needs a bit more preparation than Kunena. You should backup ../administrator/components/com_comprofiler/ue_config.php. You should also backup all subdirectories in the directory ../components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user. You will need to restore the ue.config.php after the upgrade. You may need to restore some of the plugin subdirectories. It's not the end of the world if you don't do these things. It just means that, instead of a 5-minute upgrade, it might be an hour.
It doesn't matter what order you perform these upgrades, however, you won't be able to use Kunena 1.0.10 properly until you've upgraded CB 1.2.1. This suggests that CB 1.2.1 should be done first.
Because I've upgraded Community Builder about a dozen times, and because I test the procedures before I use them on my production sites, I keep handy my printed installation guide with the many notes I've written. That's why I can do the upgrade in a very short amount of time. A good plan is preferable to "hoping for the best".

What you may want to do is examine your CB configuration parameters - print them out - so that you can reapply any specific changes you have after you do the upgrade. It's fairly easy - from memory I only made about two changes (one of them was to show dates as dd/mm/yyyy instead of the default mm/dd/yyyy format).
