Kunena 6.4.13 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.13 [6.4.13] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.0
Hint: This version is primarily intended to facilitate an upgrade if Joomla was first updated to version 6.1 before Kunena was up to dated.

Question Install Failure - not a timeout?

Hi,

Been trying unsuccessfully all day to install Kunena on my Joomla 1.5 site (on localhost). I've installed it before on a previous build but for some reason it refuses to work this time round.

I'm getting the 'common error' where I say install, and after a while I just get a white screen, but I've set all the problem fields in my php.ini to well over the recommended values (1000sec timeout).

The install gets SOMEWHERE, as I always have to uninstall the partial files before trying again, but it never ever finishes.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Big

PS. All directories are writeable, php/mysql versions fine, blahhhh...

Hello,

Do you have tried to extract the files in the kunena archive in a directory and then copy all this directory, in the tmp by ftp and try to launch the installation since this directory.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Yup - I've also tried entering the http://joomlasource address of the zip file, but no joy there either.

Every time I attempt an install, it partially installs, but never completes. It usually takes around 70sec to revert to the white screen, and my timouts are all set to 120sec, so I'm guessing it's not a timeout issue.

I've also tried it on several browsers (FF3, IE7, O9).

I'm running it on localhost via WAMP if it's any help.

Thanks.

Still no ideas how to ensure a complete install...

I'm getting the same results using all three install methods, and Joomla's having no bother uploading, unzipping and partially installing the Kunena files, it just doesn't want to finish the job. Other extensions install with no hitches whatsoever (including Community Builder, which is larger than Kunena).

I can't install Kunena 1.0.10 OR 1.5.1b, identical problems each time. I've reinstalled Joomla twice, reinstalled WAMPserver, done everything Google can think of. All php settings are more than adequate, all directories are shown as writeable, and I haven't a scooby what's stopping Kunena, and only Kunena, from completing the install process.

Anybody shed some light?

Thankyou,
Roy

IT LIVES! Clean WAMP install, new SQL database, fresh Joomla!, upload didn't work, but once I unzipped the package to /tmp, it fired right up! Wooooooooooo!
